Description

We have for sale today an EXTREMELY RARE pressing of a promotional copy of  The Rolling Stones VERY FIRST album (circa 1964).  I dusted off my trusty old turn-table and gently put the stylus down on this 40 year old classic, not knowing what to expect, in terms of the quality of the sound of the LP.  Since I'd never played the album before, I was expecting the worse. Much to my surprise, there were no skips, only one slight "pop" on one song, and, since I don't have any type of disc-washer to clean the LP surface, a good cleaning would probably enhance the sound of this record.  The front of the album cover (considering the age) is in  very good condition. There is some wear on the corners and edges of the cover and there is a small (3/4 in by 1/4 in) piece of Brian Jones shirt sleeve missing, but, all in all, the front cover has held up pretty well over the years.  The edge of the album cover(the side closest to Jones) has separated eight 8 and 1/2 inches vertically and 5 and 3/4 inches horizontally. A well-placed piece or two of tape will fix those problems, or you can leave them alone-it's up to you. The back cover is in the same shape as the front cover, with a small diagonal crease going through Keith Richards head the only defect.  The name Gary G. is written twice on the back side with magic marker-I have no idea who he is. The real surprise is the album jacket-it is original to the album!  It says "Made in England" in the lower left hand corner and  "British Patends # 800513 Foreign Patends Pending"  in the lower right hand corner(please see photo). The album was recorded in Mono. The album itself has the white label and states "Not For Sale" on it. It also has the infamous "Gary G" signiture twice on the label.  anyway, there you have it. Enjoy bidding on this truly magnificant piece of early rock and roll history and if you have  ANY questions, please feel free to e-mail me.  Actual s/h and ins. will be determined by where the album will be shipped to from my home. Thanks for viewing this auction and happy bidding!!!!
