“Bob Burns” Radio Show Transcription Discs
One Complete 30 Minute Program On These two 16 inch, one sided, Vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm Discs. One disc is black vinyl, the second is a white, translucent color which I have never seen before on an Armed Forces Radio Service disc.
These are possibly test pressings and were most likely never issued to any radio stations, and potentially not broadcast. These discs were Not Available To The General Public, Very Rare!
The discs are labeled "Variety Replacement #37"
The first 20 minutes features "The Bob Burns Show" from February 8, 1946 starring BOB BURNS with guests SHIRLEY ROSS, LEO GORCEY & The Suitcase Six. Music is by Gordon Jenkins Orchestra under direction of Peter Van Steeden.
Shirley Ross sings "'Tis Wonderful". The orchestra performs "Louise". Features a Western Movies Musical Sketch with Bob Burns, Shirley Ross & Leo Gorcey and the three sing a couple of western spoof songs
The last 10 minutes features a big band remote by George Paxton & His Orchestra … "Now Let's Join George Paxton & His Orchestra from The Roseland Ballroom". Songs include "Loop-De-Loo" female vocal, "Wait And See" vocal Alan Dale, "Frim Fram Sauce" female vocal, "I Found A New Baby" cut off by closing announcements
Discs are in Excellent+ or better condition with Excellent + or better sound. Absolutely beautiful discs with beautiful sound!
Due to their size, 16 inch discs may not play on standard turntables. For $10 I can make a professional CD dub of the disc for the buyer
