Here's the story so far. This is a brand new, unopened box set of one of the greatest albums of all time.... OK Computer. Why am I selling it then you may ask? This is the answer. After much pre-release publicity in the summer my mind was set..... I had to get this remastered classic on vinyl to supplement my recent and not too insignificant investment in a new turntable, etc. I was originally more than happy to have been fortunate enough to secure the blue vinyl edition with my local independent record shop. Excellent!
Release day came only to be greeted with a very apologetic e-mail from the aforementioned independent record store. Unfortunately they did not receive their promised allocation of blue vinyls and could not fulfill my order. Disappointed or what! A full refund accompanied the e-mail. Despite hunting high and low I was unable to locate another blue vinyl edition, with the exception of Japan, anywhere on this planet.
Probably through frustration I bit the bullet and went big, very big, in fact the full monty and ordered the box set at again not insignificant cost. Meanwhile, soon after committing myself to this extravagance the said independent record shop got back in touch..... they were now offering me the blue vinyl edition as more stock had been delivered. Hmmmm! Anyway to cut what is now a long story short I have both that the blue vinyl and box set that both remain unopened, I also bought the 'normal' vinyl to listen to and now hope that someday the blue vinyl may become just a little bit collectable.
After much deliberation I have, possibly with the hint of a tear in my eye, a lump in my throat and a sad heart, decided to put the box-set out to tender to a new good home. Of course in an ideal world it would be great to break even, however, I'm realistic. Just so long as it goes to a good home and is appreciated for the classic it is that will soften the blow. It was an impulse, possibly extravagant, purchase in my hour of need. Do I really need or desire everything it contains? Probably not.
This box set remains in its original delivery box, cellophane wrapping and has been out of the box on just two occassions, one of which was for the photographs! You are guaranteed a mint condition item. I won't detail everything the set contains as this will be well documented within other listings, however, this is a must have! The set currently retails for £100 with £10 p&p, so go with this listing you potentially save yourself £20 and have a fans story for free! I will just have to take a deep breath and stomach the eBay and PayPal fees.
