Hello Friends, This is Holy Grail week where I will be listing a few of my holy grail LPs all in NM condition or sealed. I will not use a Buy It Now price, but all listings will have Reserve prices. I would suggest that if you buy one of these ultra rare LPs that you consider Priority shipping, insurance. Thank you.
An LP does not have to be worth $1000 to be considered a Holy Grail LP musically. Quicksilver Messenger Service's 1st LP is a holy Grail to me. The music certainly captures the West Coast sound back in the Late 60s. QMS and Happy Trails, their live second LP, is as good as anything put out of the Bay area at that time. In fact, not that you probably care, but I taught myself how to play guitar by studying these two LPs. The twin guitars by Cipollina and Duncan are absolutely incredible. Add Frieberg's bass and Elmore on drums and that completes QMS. They released some of the best of the West Coast LPs. Especially the first two LPs.
This is not only a sealed copy but also a promo copy, so we know it is absolutely a first press. These are so rare that only 3 were sold on ebay in the last 5 years. One of those was mine. This album is getting very hard to find as a guaranteed first press, not to mention a sealed promo.
Record - The record lays completely flat and has never seen the light of day so it's rating is Mint. Labels would also be as clean as the day they were made.
Cover - The cover is completely sealed in shrink wrap with a few breath holes. Of course it is the original style cover where the front page was pasted over the flaps of the back that wrap around the edges. All corners are in good shape but the upper right corner does have a small bump. I have seen copies claiming to be promos (maybe they were) with a punch hole at the top right corner, but back at that time Capitol was perforating the top right of the cover all the way through with the word "FREE", which this has so there is no doubt. My grading system is M(only used on sealed LPs), NM, EX, VG+, VG, VG- and Good. LPs rated good will only be sold if they are very rare. I have been collecting and grading LPs for nearly 5 decades. I was a seller of guitars for many years on Ebay and now decided to put some of my LP collection up for sale. I have many Psych, Hard Rock, Blues, Jazz, Prog and more from the 1960s and 1970s. Many are still sealed. I will offer auction style and Buy It Now listings.
Shipping - I will ship media mail to anywhere in the US for $4.00 I will also offer Priority shipping for $12.00. Prices include insurance in the US. I ship in LP mailers with the LPs outside of the sleeve to avoid seam splits. Sealed LPs will not be opened. I will also ship to Europe and Japan via USPS international First Class mail for $24 for the first LP. I will combine shipping. I will ship within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment.
