Quasar-Nebular Trajectory 1979 Australian avant-garde/prog/jazz/fusion/kraut/rock LP. This was the first of two rare privately pressed albums released by Brisbane band Quasar on their own label. There were only 500 copies of each one pressed. The album was recorded direct to tape at Conservatorium Studios, Brisbane in March and May 1979. The only other copy of this I could find on the internet is for set sale for $149 USD. I have started this low due to it being below perfect condition but this may be your only opportunity to secure this rare Australian artefact.

Lable:Australian Creative Recordings Private Press Cat# YPRX-1548 ACR-001. Record is visually VG+ (A side)/VG (B side). Cover is G+. This is an ex-radio station copy, there are a couple of large white stickers on the front top LH cnr with some letters and numbers in large black felt tip pen and the station call sign is written on the back cover in three places. There is some light ring and general wear. There are some letters and numbers written in black felt pen on the a side label and the station call sign on the b side. There is thick tape along the spine which was used for coding purposes rather than for repair and you may be able to remove it carefully. (I have done this on some other albums leaving just some glue residue.) There is brown packing tape along the bottom edge. The glue is beginning to lift along both seams. (see scans)

Nebular Trajectory's deceptively straight opening salvo scarcely prepares one for the deeply blasted kraut inspired vision of jazz rock that ensues. Dzyan's "Time Machine" is the most immediate and obvious reference point for the sizzling but liquidly loose interplay of their power-trio-plus-effects set-up.

This is a bit of a rare slice of  Progressive/jazz rock madness from 1979. I heard  there were only 500 were pressed! So its a hard one to track down.

The three piece instrumental group features Len Henderson on Guitar, Trevor Tiplady on drums & Barry Tiplady on bass.

The album is a crazy mix of very fast, Intense jazz fusion with electrified guitar solos that weave across Trevors complex jazz drumming & percussion.  Barry gets funky on the bass & holds the rhythm together while the others two just go for it. “Force Funk” is the stand out cut on the album.
Very unique, High energy jazz rock mayhem. Great stuff from the land of Oz! 

Vinyl:
M, mint condition, unplayed, with no marks on playing surface and labels as new.
M-, mint minus, either unplayed, with minimum scuffs caused by paper sleeve, or played once or twice only and still as new.
EX, excellent condition, record played carefully, very clean surface, minimum scuffing. 
VG, very good condition, scuffing or signs of groove wear but no bad scratches. Only minor pops or crackles.
G, good condition, well played with plenty of scuffs, light scratches and groove wear.Noise evident but no jumps.
F, fair condition, playable but heavily scuffed or scratched, with a lot of surface noise. Maybe minor jumps from scratches.

Covers:
M, Mint - As New
Ex, Excellent – Very little ware – no marks or worn corners
VG, Very Good  – some minor wear and some minor marks visible 
G, Good – worn cover, may have creased corners, heavier marks, small tears but still complete
F, Fair – cover is worn and maybe torn.
