Here's an original copy of QUILL - Same, originally released 1970 in the US on Cotillion SD 9017. Very rare US original of great hard psych gem. Super copy!! Found the following describtion in the net:
this fine psych rock longhair crew got thee gig, playing the famous 1969 WOODSTOCK ROCK FESTIVAL !
Quill were a Massachusetts band based in Boston that made their way to the Woodstock Music Festival (probably because of their contract to Cotillion Records who released the soundtrack, joke was on them, they didn’t appear on the record but there is footage of them in the out-takes of the film, what were they doing sawing that wood on stage? building the stage?).
Bouncing between standard rock moves ("Too Late") and light psychedelia ("Shrieking Finally"), the set wasn't without it's oddball charms. The Cole brothers proved decent singers and extended song structures such as the harmony and percussion-rich "They Live the Life", the bizarre "The Tube Exuding" and the sweet dreamy ballad "Yellow Butterfly" (vaguely recalling something out of the Syd Barrett catalog) were quirky enough to deserve multiple listening. Interesting album of long experimental songs with some far out song titles (“Thumbnail Screwdriver,” “Tube Exuding,” Shrieking Finally”). Heads in some hard rock and prog directions, this is some pretty interesting and original stuff. The gatefold cover includes a collage of a bunch of disembodied breasts. The Cole brothers were formerly with Mt Hermon Academy school band the Hermon Knights who issued at least a couple of collectible garage/frat albums in the mid 60's.
Condition sleeve: vg+(+), the unipak gatefold has light spine- and a bit stronger cornerwear. A few tiny creases along the spines. The inside of the gatefold is mint-. Cut out on top right.
Condition vinyl: mint-(-), it has a few light visual hairlines and paperscuffs from putting it out from the innersleeve. A few tiny inaudible surface marks. Plays very close to perfect.
Condition labels: mint
