Description
This is Quest In Concert, an extremely rare live LP on Satellite Records JM-36 from 1969. It was recorded at The Office Lounge in Louisville, KY. This group was the house band at The Loser's Club in Dallas, TX. It is produced by Tony Caterine who was also owner of the club and T/C Management which also managed The Quest exclusively. The Quest consisted of Mike St. Romain on guitar, Darral Howard on organ, John Broberg on bass and Neal St. John on drums. John and Neal had previously been in a band called The Upper Class, which had recorded a garage/psych single on a small label called Charay. This was later picked up by Smash and released on their label. Darrel had previously been vocalist with a group called Chants. I believe Mike had been in this group also.
The record has light noise in the intro and occasionally in other parts of the LP. This is very minimal. The recording is very good for the time, but being a live privately pressed recording, it does not have the perfect clean sound of studio recordings on a major label. It has a nice, raw garage psych live sound. The cover is in VG+ condition but is very solid. You can see the wear on both sides in the photos. There is also some paint missing in spots around the edges but no seam split has started. Pick this one up if you're interested. It's not likely you'll get another chance.
