Queen Rocks (Double Vinyl LP - Limited Edition)

This now rare and highly collectable limited edition was released in 1997.  Pressed on heavyweight vinyl the vinyls play with immaculate audio and judging by the lack of spindle wear I would not be surprised if they had never been played prior to my play testing.  It comes complete with the gatefold which is in Near Mint condition.

Visual grading

Both vinyls are visually stunning and retain a vibrant glossy sheen.  There are a minimal amount of very fine hairlines, a couple on each side approximately, that have no bearing on the audio and I imagine they were caused by sleeve removal.  I suspect these vinyls have only been looked and not played as there is no spindle wear.  There is a very small area of faint marks on 'Stone Cold Crazy' on S2 but again this has no affect on the sound.  The run out grooves on both are pristine with no marking.

Play grading

Every track across both vinyls play with a quality that is second to none.  There is no intrusive interference and the depth and power is stunning.  Perhaps a hint of static on the first 2/3 seconds of each side but thereafter there are no clicks or pops.  Now 20 years old this double vinyl LP has been superbly well looked after and the audio quality reflects that.  So often with louder tracks you will hear some distortion but I am pleased to report I only detected a little on one track, 'I Can't Live Without You'.  The strength of the bass and clarity across the whole recording is immaculate and will not disappoint.

The Gatefold

The glossy gatefold is in lovely condition overall and has been well looked after.  The edges and wide spine are perfect apart from one very thin area of wear on the top edge of the back cover.  The cover hasn't actually been cut through, it is just where the paper has separated very slightly from the top edge.  It really isn't that noticeable though.  Every other aspect about this cover is Mint.  There are no marks and the inside is 100% immaculate.   As can be seen it still has the original sticker on the top left of the front cover.

Picture sleeves

They are both very clean and have no marking although the second one does have a small split to one side.

Labels

  The labels are in perfect condition with no marking/writing and no spindle wear.
