Visual grading

They both have that stunning glossy unplayed look and there are no scratches to be seen.  There are only a couple of faint hairlines on the second vinyl no doubt caused by sleeve removal.  Presumably the previous owner wanted to look at them a couple of times!  There is a little mottling that can only be seen in strong daylight but this is a common occurrence with this LP and was caused during manufacture.  There is no spindle wear and as detailed below the audio could not be any better.

Play grading

The audio on all four sides is of a superb standard.  As stated the vinyls have never been played prior to my purchase and this shows in the dynamic power and quality on offer here.  I only detected a couple of mega light static sounds on the 'We Will Rock You' intro on S1 and the audio throughout is stunning with no clicks or pops etc.  Obviously there are very few quiet sections but where the decibel level does decrease the clarity does not diminish.  A prime example of this is on the 'It's Late' intro where there is no 'background' at all and on the relatively quiet 'No-One But You'.  The audio is quite simply Mint and this qualifies as a final upgrade archive pressing of that I have no doubt.

The Gatefold

This stunning glossy gatefold is in Mint condition and has been superbly well cared for over the last 20+ years.  The edges, wide spine and corners are all in immaculate order and there is no marking to be seen anywhere.  A beautiful example.

Picture sleeves

The glossy sleeves are also 'as new' and it would be impossible to find cleaner.  100% perfect in every way with no splits, creasing or marking.

The Labels

They are in superb shape with no spindle wear and no marking or writing.  The S1 label actually has another one pressed over it which is quite rare obviously so has a little 'bubbling'.  It's probably best to leave it on there though.
