Queen Rocks 1st Press Double Vinyl LP 1997

This highly collectable double LP plays to a superb standard with barely any 'background' and the clarity and definition is extremely impressive.  The records have hardly been played and that is reflected in the quality of the audio.  There is no distortion at all.

The glossy cover is also in immaculate condition and the picture inners are perfect with no 'wear' of any kind.

The vinyls both have a lovely glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  All I can detect are a small number of faint sleeve removal hairlines.  There is no spindle wear so this and the quality of the audio leads me to believe the records have only been played a handful of times if that.  The run out grooves and labels are also in perfect condition.

Play grading  

I have played excerpts from every track and I can confirm the audio plays to a very high standard.  'We Will Rock You' on S1 has only the bare minimum of mega light static on the intro and one crackle sound after the first chorus but otherwise plays perfectly.  The remaining tracks on the side plays with stunning Mint precision and no 'background'.  There is no distortion at all which is impressive when you consider the decibel level here!  'Hammer To Fall' on S2 begins perfectly and continues in the same manner and every track on the side plays without fault.  The clarity and definition is equal to that of any unplayed record.

S3 again impresses and the first track 'Tear It Up' plays with incredible Mint precision from start to finish.  The intro on 'One Vision' so often has some 'background' but that is certainly not the case here and it plays with sublime quality throughout.  The two Taylor tracks on the album 'Sheer Heart Attack' and 'I'm In Love With My Car' are so powerful and can only be graded as Mint the audio is that good.  The first two tracks on S4 are 'as new' with no intrusion on the audio whatsoever.  The classic 'It's Late' just has a little static on the intro but the remainder plays with incredible power and clarity.  The final track 'No-One But You' plays with wonderful clarity from the very first groove and continues in the same way with no interference.  This emotive track provides a perfect end to a near perfect album.  It is worth repeating that none of the sides have any distortion, the playback is stunning.

The Gatefold

The glossy cover is in pristine condition with no marking to be seen.  The edges and wide spine have no wear and the opening edges have no handling wear either.  The corners are near perfect apart from one tiny crease on the bottom right one but you often see that anyway.  The front cover is so clean and as can be seen it still has the original sticker top left.  The back cover is also in sublime condition and the inside (with lyrics) is absolutely immaculate.  A superb example that would be nigh on impossible to improve upon.

The Picture Inners

The glossy inners are in perfect order with no side splits or creasing.  They are both 'as new'.

The Labels

There is no marking or spindle wear and again look 'brand new'.  Stunning examples!
