We all know it is easy to pick up a 'GH1' but it is not so easy to find one as good as this and even harder to find a genuine A1/B1 first pressing in this condition.  It has been hardly played, is visually stunning, and plays with superb audio.  The cover is also in lovely condition, which is another rarity, and the picture inner is perfect.

Visual grading

Look no further for a stunning, visually immaculate A1/B1 first press!  It has been hardly played, there is no spindle wear, and retains a beautiful mirror like glossy sheen.  Now over 35 years old you do not see many like this today!  There are only a couple of very faint small hairlines and there are certainly no scratches.  It definitely has the wow factor!  The labels and run out grooves are also incredibly clean.  A stunning example.

Play grading  

'Bohemian Rhapsody' plays with superb quality from the very first groove and with no obvious 'background'.  It's so rare for the first few grooves to be so clean and this is a stunning start to this classic.  I am pleased to say it continues in exactly the same way with only a minimal touch of mega light static on this opening quiet section.  It is barely audible and it is only what you expect to find on any vinyl - even one pressed yesterday!  So for a genuine A1/B1 first press to play with such amazing clarity is a rarity.  The operatic/rock section plays 'as new' the depth and power is absolutely fantastic!  The quiet end section also plays very clearly and with only minor static background that is just a little louder right at the end.  Overall a superb version and a sublime start to S1.  The depth of the bass comes through so strongly on 'Another One Bites The Dust' and again plays very clearly from the outset.  There is just a little 'static hiss' in the background but it is exactly that, in the background and generally non-intrusive.  The entire track plays with no clicks, pops or crackle.  'Killer Queen' impresses from start to finish and easily grades as Mint- it is superb.  This quality is prevalent for the remainder of the side and without wishing to sound repetitive this A1/B1 first press is a superb example of its kind.  Yes there is a gentle 'static hiss' in the background in a handful of places but I re-iterate it is totally non-intrusive and I only mention it to provide a comprehensive grading.  There are no clicks or pops anywhere and the clarity and sonic quality is so impressive.  There are so many highlights but 'Don't Stop Me Now' in particular is stunning from beginning to end and there is no obvious 'background' on the fade out either.  The final track 'Save Me' has only minimal static here and there but it is very quiet and again not intrusive and still plays with very impressive clarity.

'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' on S2 plays with Mint- quality the audio is immaculate and you could not wish to hear a better version.  Wow!  'Somebody To Love' carries on in the same way and with next to no static is another near perfect track.  As stated this is such a clean, 'new' looking vinyl and that is just one reason why it plays so exceptionally well.  'Now I'm Here' has a little static on the intro but again it is very much in the background and has no clicks or pops.  It then proceeds to play with sublime power and depth and only a bare minimum of static on the fade out.  'Good Old-Fashioned Loverboy' has minor static on the intro and then plays very clearly.  There is one click just after the first chorus although I cannot see what is causing it so may be a pressing fault.  The remainder plays almost without fault, just a couple of dust ticks that is all.  The remaining tracks do not disappoint either and with only a hint of mega light static on a couple of intros the audio is superb.  There is nothing that detracts from the quality of the listen. 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' in particular is stunning and plays with Mint- audio without question.  The classics 'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions' end this album in impeccable style i.e. no interference and I cannot stress enough just how good they sound.  In a word...stunning!  This is all the more rare as this final track often has some distortion due to there being nine tracks 'squeezed' onto the side.  This often results in the final one or two tracks having some distortion but there isn't any here at all.  The depth and clarity on this side is so impressive and will not disappoint.

In summary this A1/B1 first press would add to any collection.  The audio is 'high end' for the vast majority and with only one click it doesn't get much better than this!  It is such a clean vinyl and as stated there is no spindle wear and it has obviously been hardly played.  A superb example and with a super clean cover and picture inner also. 

The Cover

This is one of the cleanest 'first press' covers I have seen in a long time and it really has hardly any shelf wear.  The edges have only absolute minimal rubbing and the thin spine is also in superb condition with no wear at all.  There is very little corner wear either, just a little creasing/rubbing on the top right one.  The opening edge has only a very small amount of handling wear and is still in great condition.  The front cover is mega clean with only one tiny white spot near the top edge and a handful of small creases around the edges.  The back cover is in lovely condition with no marking at all.  A very impressive example of this famous cover.

Picture inner  

The thick card inner with the rounded corners is perfect condition with no wear and easily grades as Mint it is that good!

The labels

In great condition that have no spindle wear and remain extremely clean indeed.  They have only a couple of fingerprint type marks on each but no writing etc.
