This is an original 1983 DB Records pressing of Pylon's Chomp — catalog DB65.

I am the original and sole owner of this record. It has been in my collection since I purchased it new, and it has not passed through multiple owners or collections.

The record is in VG+ condition, the jacket is VG+, and I have personally play tested both sides while preparing this listing. The LP plays through both sides without skipping.

And then there's that cover: the unmistakable Pylon dinosaur artwork with the distinctive serrated “Chomp” edge. The colors on this copy remain bright and bold, and the serrated edge is complete and intact, with no bent or missing sections.

CONDITION

VINYL — VG+

PLAY TESTED.

I personally played both sides of this LP while preparing the listing. The record plays through both sides without skipping.

Visually, the vinyl is clean and glossy and presents very nicely. Please examine the photographs carefully for the exact condition of the record.

JACKET — VG+

The jacket is clean and attractive, with bright, bold colors.

I do not see any creases or tears. The distinctive serrated edge is complete and intact, with no missing elements. There is a tiny blemish on the left side of front cover (see photo).  I was able to remove most of it with a lightly damp soft cloth & a few drops tap water.  It isn't glaringly obvious, but in the name of full disclosure, it is there. I feel safe to say it can be removed entirely as most of it vanished easily, but not being a conservator, I did not attempt to vanquish it entirely.

Please use the photographs as the final reference for the exact condition of this particular copy.

The actual record and jacket pictured are the ones you will receive.

The white paper inner sleeve is also included, as pictured.

A GREAT PIECE OF THE EARLY ATHENS / ATLANTA SCENE

Pylon came out of Athens, Georgia, alongside the extraordinary early-'80s music scene that produced bands such as R.E.M. and the B-52's.

Chomp was released by Atlanta-based DB Records, the independent label operated by Danny Beard that played an important role in bringing a number of Georgia's emerging bands to a wider audience.

The album was produced by Chris Stamey and Gene Holder of the dB's, with Mitch Easter handling recording on the bulk of the album's tracks. The combination of Pylon, Stamey, Holder and Easter makes this a particularly interesting document of the Georgia / North Carolina independent music scene of the period.

This is the original 1983 DB Records issue, not a later reissue.
