Public Image Ltd - Metal Box 2016 Vinyl Boxset Stunning Set !. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class.
Beautiful condition 2016 Virgin records boxset of the seminal Metal Box album by Public Image Ltd. In this remastered reissue the original album is split over two 12” albums. You also get a 5 track Rare Mixes & BBC Sessions mini album - Swan Lake, Albatross, Poptones, Careering & Chant. Plus a six track live album recorded in 1979 at the Russell Club in Manchester. All the records are in near mint condition. I played them twice. Once as a general listen, and another time to transfer the music to a FLAC file. It’s a lovely box but to be honest if I was going to keep a vinyl version of this album I’d search out the original round tin version. That’s because I’m a bit of a sad anorak :).
Other stuff in the box - you get a really nice softback album sized book with loads of photos and text. It’s hefty - 72 pages or near about. You also get 4 prints, a poster and a 12” sized facsimile of the red on white track list sheet that came with the original. All of these extras are in mint condition apart from the track list sheet which although excellent does have a very very light crease on the surface. It hasn’t been folded in half or anything - just a very minor surface crease.
So, all the contents are mint to excellent. The outer metal box is excellent. There is a very minor dent on the front but it is barely visible to be honest. On the back of the tin there is a blob of sticky tacky glue. I think when I bought this the track listing sheet was stuck on the back of the tin which probably explains the slight crease in that sheet. I am pretty sure that with a bit of care this blob of glue will be easily removed. Maybe with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and some gentle rubbing ? I’d have a go myself but I don’t want to cause any damage.
This is a very hefty boxset so the postage won’t be cheap I’m afraid. It might be worth considering signed for. If you want that let me know otherwise I will send standard large parcel.
