Psych LP LSD STEREO Capitol Documentary 1966 VG++
Capitol did a three-part series of important topics for their day. LSD was the first. (The other two were Male Homosexuality and Runaway Teenagers, both for their subsidiary label, Sidewalk.) This copy is the slightly scarcer stereo version.
A fascinating study, much of this LP is from actual field recordings. Side 1 consists of testimonies from everyone from professionals to hippies, describing previous experiences on LSD. Side 2 is nearly entirely a recording of a group of teenagers who are in the process of tripping. It gets interesting when the host of the party has a bad trip.
Vinyl--- Strong VG+ to VG++. Mostly new shine with a few hairline scratches on each side.
Plates--- A3/ A1. This is a first-day issue. Scranton pressing. Has the “IAM” triangle on both sides in the dead wax.
Cover--- Could be better. Lots of general yellowing, dulling and dirtwear. None of the seams are split, but all, including the spine, have crackling of the slick. Gatefold center seam has a split about one inch.
Labels--- Some very light fading around the playhole on Side 1, but that’s it. NO spindle marks on either side. NM otherwise.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Original 1966 yellow Capitol inner sleeve is present. One small one-inch split to the bottom seam. A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route to you.

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
