Description
PROPHETS: This is an original first printing poster from 1967, for the Prophets at 1444 Polk St., in San Francisco. The artwork is yet another mystical piece from the legendary Summer of Love in 1967, San Francisco. The artist, Gut, was actually a Hell’s Angel, although he did much more then ride bikes. He also did the artwork, for example, for the Acid Test Graduation, as well as a lot of other posters for Big Brother and various sundry Hell’s Angels events. He also managed the band Blue Cheer, widely considered one of the first “metal” bands ever. The poster incorporates the Egyptian Ankh symbol, which represents life. An actual poster for the 1960s, grab it while you can!! Poster measures 14 X 20.
