Description
Very rare 1961 first pressing white label promo copy of Marches for Orchestra conducted by Frederick Fennell on Mercury Living Presence stereo LP SR-90271. R-1 stamper, signed by the masterer "KM" and dated 1/8/61. This is a truly amazing recording and is considered by many collectors I know to be every bit as good as the best of Mercury's incredible audiophile masterpieces. And this copy sounds absolutely fantastic. There are maybe one or two tiny superficial scuffs to be seen but it plays just about flawlessly and beautifully. The original colorback cover is almost perfect as well, with very minor corner wear at the lower corners, a sort of scratch on the front, and slight ringwear to be seen on the back. All very minor; really this is an incredible copy, one of the best I have ever seen, and the original master makes it a really special pressing. Hard to beat.
