Description
Up for auction is my personal UK first pressing copy of Pink Floyds The Wall on the harvest label.
Please note i am not a professional grader but i will be as accurate as i can be regarding condition and details
There was two UK variants of the first pressings sleeves and the inner sleeves to my knowledge so i will list to the best of my ability the details of this copy.
Outer Sleeve
The outer sleeve is a single sheet of thick cardboard which is wrapped around with the seam on the inside top of the sleeve itself.
Also specific to the first pressing is that the band members are not listed on the inner of the sleeve. Just "Words and music by Roger Waters Except..." and "Produced by David Gilmour, Bob Ezrin, Roger Waters"
The represses added band member credits.
The condition is nice for its age with no major creases and a small amount of dirt. A couple of the corners (where the records slide in) are slightly worn. The bricks artwork on the sleeve is in the original cream colour not true white.
Inner Sleeves
Both inner sleeves are thick cardboard with rounded corners. No Splits are in the sleeves and they are in nice condition with onlt a small amount of wear.
The variant inner sleeve for this pressing is the one with the UK Cat No in the lower right corner of side 2 (SHSP 4111) and side 4 (SHSP 4112) of the sleeves.
The Records
Both records are in good clean condition with only minimal marks when viewed in daylight. The only major mark i can see is on side 4 and carrys from track 1 into track 2. But when played on my project carbon turntable it plays fine with no skipping and no loud popping. There is some quiet noise but its only really heard during quiet periods and if you have access to a good record cleaner machine (which i dont) im sure it will do wonders
The labels appear to be in good clean condition.
The matrix numbers are as follows. Please note they may not be complete as its hard to see some of the digits due to being so small. Also from what i can tell these are quite low stamper numbers in the print run.
Side 1 = SHSP 4111 A-2U Side 2 = SHSP 4111 B-3U also what looks like GGP (stamped) Side 3 = SHSP 4112 A-3U Side 4 = SHSP 4112 B-5U TML-M
Thanks for looking.
Winning bidder to pay by PayPal. Once payment is received i will post the record out in a strong vinyl mailer by recorded delivery.
