New:  Pink Floyd Pulse, Vinyl Box Set - New, Sealed and Un-played

I bought two UK copies of this box set when it was released. One was played on high end audiophile equipment; the other was never played or opened.  I am now selling this un-played and sealed  (personal) reference copy.

This has remained on my record shelves since I bought it. It is sealed but over the years the seal has contracted in some places as it has dried out – see the pictures. The seal is still intact and I can confirm that the records have never been taken out of the box, looked at or played, it is as it was the day it was released. The records are new, hence the reason I have no pictures of them and the reason I have listed this as ‘New’. The winning bidder will have the pleasure of opening these records for the very first time (or not if you are buying as an investment!).

On one of the edges of the box – see pictures – there’s a couple of small and very, very mild edge rubbing, caused by shelving or being moved, but that is all. The box is pristine and the records and sleeves, to confirm, will be new as per the day the box set was released. Please be aware before bidding that you are buying an un-played and still sealed record. I can confirm that it has been stored in an upright position in between other records on firm, bespoke record shelves in a dry, pet and smoke free environment and has not been stored near any sources of heat or dampness.

You are probably aware of how rare this PF release is in a new/un-played state and that it is a highly collectable release. Grab yourself a bargain as these opportunities will not come along too often now. No reserve or Buy it Now price and a realistic starting price. Good luck!

Returns: Please Read Before Bidding

I am a private, not business, seller. I generally do not like the hassle of dealing with returns, it’s not what I sell on e-bay for! In return though I use lots of high quality pictures and describe as honestly and openly as I can what I am selling. You are also free to ask as many questions as you want before bidding ends. Finally, no-one forces you to bid: so if you are unsure, just don’t bid; otherwise please bid in full knowledge that all sales are final. I have a 100% rating off 1000+ trades as buyer and seller on E-bay so that should also help you make up your mind, but I regard myself as a trustworthy and honest seller.

Postage and Packing

I don’t skimp on packaging for my parcels. They will be packaged to ensure they reach you in the condition they left me. Cardboard boxes, where appropriate, lots of package filling and bubble wrap will be used.

I recognise there are cheaper methods of sending my goods but I like to have peace of mind when I send high value goods that they get to their destination in on piece, are covered by a suitable level of insurance and I have proof that they have done so. For these reasons I only use recorded delivery type services using reputable carriers – in the UK this will be Royal Mail/Parcelforce and  for overseas posting I will also use Royal Mail/Parcelforce but can also  use UPS/Fed-EX etc for additional payment if the buyer so requests in advance.

International Buyers: Please Read BEFORE Bidding

I would appreciate it if overseas buyers can e-mail before bidding for a postage estimate – please let me know your place and location of delivery, country and zip/postal code so I can calculate costs. Overseas postage of high value goods is by its very nature expensive, more so with signed for services with appropriate  insurance cover, and even more so when the item is bulky/heavy. Please factor this into your  final bidding price by asking for a quote before bidding. I also  do not post to certain parts of the world owing to security and reliability issues, so buyers in these countries will be blocked from buying.

E-bay Postage Costs Policy - Please read: E-bay has for some inexplicable reason decided to place a seller ‘cap’ on postage costs for certain items. This seems to be based on the erroneous assumption that smallish sized goods or goods of a certain ‘type’ do not warrant postage over a certain amount, which ignores the fact that some goods can be highly valuable and warrant higher than normal insurance cover which in turn raises postage costs. It may be necessary to pay additional postage costs for certain items once bidding ends owing to the inability to list items if this ‘cap’ is broken. If this is not done the seller ends up losing money on the final bid price by partly subsidising the buyer’s postage costs. For the reasons stated above I will not compromise on the type of postage services I use just to get under the cap. I will indicate if this is the case in my description beforehand.

PLEASE NOTE: the actual UK postage charge will be £15.00. E-bay will not let me list more than £7.00 for postage, but this item is very heavy and will weigh close to 3kg once packed, hence £7.00 is not a realistic price. The winning UK bidder will have to forward an additional £8.00 to cover these postage costs.

Monday 3rd March 2014: Further Information

Having re-read my description I thought it would be useful to add the following remarks regarding the box set being sealed for the sake of clarification.

As you can see from the photos, the sealing wrap has split along the seams as these are the weakest points and generally will split when there is shrinkage, as has been the case here.

The splits you see and the tears in the sealing wrap have been caused by taking the box set on/off the shelf they were stored in, which was at times necessary when moving home and/or changing records around, dusting etc, in combination with shrinkage owing to the wrap drying out. I want to suggest it is ‘naturally’ occurring splits rather than intentional splits, if you can follow that!! I have tried over the years to handle the box with extreme care, but the sealing wrap has become very brittle so some ripping is inevitable whenever it is moved – something you need to be aware of if you are the winning bidder, particularly if you are buying as an investment. Just be very careful when unwrapping it, as I will wrap carefully and very securely in bubble wrap and cardboard.

Just wanted to point out that that is why the seal appears  to be compromised – it has not been caused by me ripping it to get to the records etc. To reiterate what I have stated in my description: I have not taken the records out of the box set, they have not been handled by me, looked at or the like. The winning bidder will have that pleasure.
