PINK FLOYD - 'POINT ME AT THE SKY'/'CAREFUL WITH THAT AXE EUGENE'
Unreleased in the U.S. at the time and left of the 'Relics' LP, 'Point Me At The Sky' has become the least readily available of all officially released Pink Floyd recordings. It was not commercially re-issued until the 1992 CD collection 'The Early Singles', a bonus disc in the 'Shine On' box set, which used this original mono mix.

This genuine UK DEMO of their 5th single release dates from just prior to its release on 6th December 1968

Both labels are green with black lettering with a large white 'A' on 'Point Me To The Sky' label.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the 'B' side label.

Matrix numbers: 7XCA 32288-1 & 7XCA 32289-1

Stamper codes: 1/G & 1/G (the earliest possible combination)

Housed in its original red white EMI/Columbia die-cut company sleeve.

Both are clean & bright with a small collection of light, well-aimed spindle trails around the 'B' side centre hole only. There is also slight discolouration to the 'Careful With The Axe Eugene' label, but no writing or missing paper anywhere.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Both sides of this well looked after disc are extremely clean and retain all of their deep-gloss shine with no groove whitening from overplay or clouded areas. The 'A' side is unmarked in strong daylight and the only visible blemish on the entire disc is a 1cm non-feelable hairline on 'Careful With The Axe Eugene'. Even close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals only some harmless wispy paper hairlines to the 'B' side only.

Sound Quality: NEAR MINT

  Both tracks have never sounded as good as they do here. Both play cleanly and clearly without any trace of groove/playwear. In fact apart from a touch of low-level vinyl background at the quiet beginning of 'Careful With That Axe Eugene', this disc is flawless.
