Description

This is the debut album of Pink Floyd - The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. It is on the orange Tower label (ST 5093), 1967, and has Syd Barrett on guitar instead of the later David Gilmour. Here is the track list - Side One: See Emily Play, Pow R. Toch, Take Up My Stethoscope And Walk, Lucifer Sam, Matilda Mother. Side Two: The Scarecrow, The Gnome, Chapter 24, Interstellar Overdrive.

The title of Pink Floyd's debut album is taken from a chapter in Syd Barrett's favorite children's book, The Wind in the Willows, and the lyrical imagery of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is full of colorful, childlike, distinctly British whimsy, albeit filtered through the perceptive lens of LSD. Barrett's catchy, melodic acid pop songs are balanced with longer, more experimental pieces showcasing the group's instrumental freak-outs, often using themes of space travel as metaphors for hallucinogenic experiences.

The vinyl is bright and shiny, no marks.  It was owned by my mother who took passionate care of her albums, listened to them with earphones and wrote down the lyrics -- all in an effort to understand her children’s generation.  Very slight spindle wear.

The cover is good, some edgewear and a split seam at the bottom (about 3”).  No markings.  Generic inner sleeve.
