Brand new and sealed

Legendary prog-rock experimentalists and perennial best-sellers Pink Floyd collect all of their studio albums in this extensive box set. From the dense psychedelia and complex improvisational structures of 1967's 'Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' all the way up to the thematic confusions of 1994's 'The Division Bell', the story of one of Britain's most influential and successful acts is encapsulated on 'Oh By The Way'. This lavish box set also includes artwork from regular Pink Floyd collaborator Storm Thorgerson and bonus material.

The mammoth 16-disc box set OH BY THE WAY was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd's first album. It contains every one of Floyd's studio albums, each packaged in a miniature-LP-style sleeve. It's the most exhaustive overview one could ask for, chronicling the band's beginnings as pioneering psychedelic scenemakers through their '70s tenure as prog-rock merchants and their latter-day reincarnation as grand old men of British rock.
While rarities-seekers should be advised of the lack of bonus/previously unreleased tracks here, there's so much dazzling material that it doesn't really matter. Pink Floyd were the original psychedelic space cadets, and the thrill of their early acid-rock forays under Syd Barrett's baton is all the more intense when it brushes up against Roger Waters-helmed concept pieces like ATOM HEART MOTHER and DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. The band's post-Waters material adds a dignified final chapter to the story, with David Gilmour shining in the spotlight. The Floyd catalog, considered as a whole, contains some of the most innovative music ever released under the umbrella of rock, and OH BY THE WAY is a classy and convenient way to absorb it all.

From their first Syd Barrett-led psych-pop record to their concept albums and elaborately presented live shows of the 1970s, these space-rock pioneers reached unprecedented heights of commercial and aesthetic success. Their '73 opus, DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, remained on the album charts for an astounding 14 years, making it one of the best-selling records ever. Even after the departure of main conceptualist Roger Waters following 1983's THE FINAL CUT, Floyd continued to release albums well into the '90s, with David Gilmour leading the band. In July 2005 Roger Waters' rejoined the band for an ecstatically received four song set at the LIVE 8 gig in London's Hyde Park. Instantly fuelling rumours of a full-scale reunion, the band were at pains to stress the performance was a one-off but they may consider reforming for a similar global event.
