Description
I am selling part of my vinyl collection which has been accumulated over the years. I am not a dealer but have realised that if I pass these records on they will not be appreciated for what they are.
So on offer here is a great copy of The Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd, released on the EMI Harvest label in 1973, catalogue number SHVL 804
THE ALBUM
The very first pressing was with the solid blue triangle and the Matrix numbers were A2/B2. The problem was that there was a pressing fault with all copies and the stylus stuck on “ Money”
EMI quickly repressed, also with the solid blue triangle, to resolve the pressing issue, and the Matrix number was A3/B2 with is what we have here
THE COVER
A2/B2 pressings had a slight greenish tinge to the cover, the next and subsequent pressing had a Matt black cover which is what this has.
The cover is only open on the right side to insert the album, the left side is sealed like the first press
This cover is in Excellent condition
THE INSERTS AND INNER
Both posters are included, in Excellent condition
Both the stickers are included with the “ FasPrint CrackBack print on the back
The black polylined inner is included with the silver print of the patent numbers
THE VINYL
I played this all the way through at high volume on my high end system ( Michell Gyrodec, SME Series Iv arm, Naim 52 a d 135 power amp through B& W 802Nautilus speakers
The sound quality is Excellent to near Mint with no cracking, pops or other nasties. Sound quality is Excellent Plus
Side One has slight up and down movement movement on the Turntable,Side Two has a moderate warp however when using the record clamp my turntable has it flattened it completely and my arm tracked it without any issues at all. I also played it without the clamp and it played fine, so I don’t see it should be a problem with any but the most basic turntable, but if in doubt don’t bid
Due to the this I have downgraded the vinyl on Side Two as Very Good Plus, for visual reasons, however as I said the sound is superb with no tracking issues
Overall this is a great copy of a very hard to come by pressing, in Excellent condition
The record will be sent in MOFI non static inner,and the album was cleaned on my Okki Nokki record cleaning machine before listening
It will be sent in a professional record mailer used by record shops
