Description
A true rarity and a superbly collectable set for the Pink Floyd completist. This is a triple boxed set of a concert from the US tour in 1972 during the period that Pink Floyd were recording Dark Side of the Moon back in Abbey Road (released March 1973). As the insert notes say: "Recorded September 22, 1972 under a full moon and smiling skies at the Hollywood Bowl". Song list as follows:
One: Breathe/On the Run/Time including Breathe (Reprise)/The Great Gig in the Sky (17.45)
Two: Money/Us and Them/Any Colour You Like/Brain Damage/Eclipse (24.08)
Three: One of These Days (8.15), Careful With That Axe Eugene (12.42)
Four: Echoes (26.33)
Five: A Saucerful of Secrets (16.45)
Six: Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (13.30)
The three LPs are on a heavy vinyl pressing and in their original paper sleeves. The plain paper labels (pink, green and brown) have the side numbers carefully written on them, by me as a very young man before I realised that this might be a bad idea... The vinyl itself is very heavy compared to most LPs. I am no expert but the pressings seems to be pretty good. There is some surface crackle but not scratches as far as I can tell. I would say the records are playable and listenable but not in mint condition. The paper insert has one or two minor creases but no tears. The (original) black box has one or two splits on the sides of the lid and a couple of small storage marks but is in overall very good condition.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to ask for any images. I have tried taking photographs of the vinyl but frankly they don't show much other than shiny records...
