Description

An original 1st press of AHM on the UK Harvest label from 1970. Matrix A1G/B1G. Stampers 1-GO/2-GH. Please note the labels mention 'Gramophone' in the perimeter label text and there's no 'EMI' label present - all indicative of very 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. The left hand panel is factory sealed and the release date and patent info is mentioned down at the foot in the interior. Also included is the original Harvest advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) Woah! I've landed a beauty here... A lovely looking slab of vinyl which has clearly only seen very light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks each side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. In fact, I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that "I've never heard AHM sound like this"...and, in addition, I would imagine few people have. The one word that always springs to mind when listening to AHM is "DELICATE". Nearly all the audio from start to finish is very very low-key and delicate. Any background interference is just going to start interfering, even at low-levels. Even in the super quiet passages, here, just lovely background silence...mmmm! We can only make out a couple of very light crackles in a couple of isolated moments, and one tick a third the way through side 2 -  that really is it....very unusual. This baby is super-low-mileage..and the transparency delivered is absolutely astonishing. I can hear everything resolved perfectly and right back into the mix - superb! This is a one-off... one-of-a-kind specimen at this level of preservation. Scoop it up while you can.
Cover (Ex-) It's a total nightmare trying to find original copies with even a remotely decent looking cover. This one acquits itself admirably and looks way better than most that surface. Relatively clean front and back with very nice vivid colours - nothing worse than a couple of blemishes. No sign of the usual surface wear, discolouration, or creasing. The interior looks great with no signs of foxing or ageing at all. Edge wear is pretty light for this title. The spine looks very nice indeed with all text still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
