Description of the record:
This is a single vinyl album by Pink Floyd called “Animals”.
Gatefold Sleeve:
First press Garrod & Lofthouse wide spine gatefold sleeve with no barcode. Has only one opening at the back for the record to slide in and out. The opening at the front is sealed with a flap; later pressings don’t have this. In the lower right hand corner of the inside cover it says “Made and printed in Great Britain 7701 TM Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd”. The gatefold sleeve shows little sign of wear and has been graded Ex.
Inner Sleeve:
First issue thick card type with rounded corners and 9” notch on the edge that opens. In the lower right corner of the second side it says “SHVL 815 (1)”. The inner sleeve has been graded as Ex.
Labels:
Clean apart from a mark on the Pig/Sheep side (see picture) a black mark coming from the hole; about 17mm long. Text around the top edge of the label starts at 9 o'clock and says; “EMI Records Ltd. All rights of the producer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved”. Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 7 o'clock and says; “Made in Great Britain Unauthorised public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited”.
Vinyl:
The record has been pressed in black vinyl and has been graded as Ex. This is an original release on “EMI Records Ltd” from 1977. The matrix for side 1 is SHVL 815 A-3U and for side 2 is SHVL 815 B-4U. The code for the album is SHVL 815 (1). The record has been removed from the sleeves and is stored separately in a white inner sleeve. The running order is laid out below:
Side 1: SHVL 815 A-3U
- Pigs on the wing (Part One)
- Dogs
Side 2: SHVL 815 B-4U
- Pigs (Three different ones)
- Sheep
- Pigs on the wing (Part Two)
The record was graded using a Linn Adikt cartridge combined with a Gyger 2 stylus through an audiophile system. For grading definitions see the bottom of this advert.

The record will be packaged appropriately to prevent any damage from occurring during transit. The record has been removed from its outer sleeve to prevent any damage to the sleeve occurring during transit.
Posting times:
Items will be posted the next working day after payment has been received or cleared.

If more than one item is purchased, where possible, postage and packaging will be combined to give the cheapest and most appropriate postal option.

Definitions of grading of record:
M = Mint
M sleeve: No wear of any kind to the sleeve.
M record: No wear what so ever to the record. Any mint records in this collection will have been played only a handful of times.
Ex = Excellent
Ex sleeve: Some slight wear to the cover; some impression to the cover; no seam splits.
Ex record: Minimal wear; some scuffs; record plays close to perfect.
VG = Very Good
VG sleeve: Some ageing; minor wear to seams or spine; minor creasing, some impression.
VG record: Some surface scratching; some back ground noise but not obtrusive.
Gd = Good
Gd sleeve: Cover in poor condition; seam splits; tears.
Gd record: Surface scratching; back ground noise is obtrusive.
