Sealed in loose shrink wrap

ALL RECORDS ARE NEW - All of the LPs here were purchased by me in the 1970's for resale. Marriage, three kids, and other duties ended my mail order business back then, but now all of the kids are college age or older so it is time to dust of the boxes and sell these before people forget what an LP is.  Some titles I have a good quantity of, others only one or two.  All were purchased in quantity for resale. Some are sealed in shrink wrap, some are not – it just depends on the source.

NONE HAVE BEEN PLAYED - I also have hundreds of titles of one-only audition records, some have been played, some not. Perhaps I will sell those someday, for now I am only selling my old inventory.

THESE ARE FROM EUROPE - Please note that the outer record jackets of some European labels were rather flimsy in comparison to American jackets, particularly the British.  Some of the British labels also used cheap glue to hold their jackets together.  This glue does NOT improve with age. On certain brands you should expect the quarter of a century old outer sleeve glue to fail since much of it failed in the first few months. If you sleeve your records this is not problem, otherwise one swipe with a glue stick fixes it. Some records are in shrink wrap, either tight or loose, others came to me without shrink wrap.  Most were purchased directly from the manufacturer or a European wholesaler.  Others were purchased from US importers like JEM or Capitol Imports.

WARRANTY - Since the wholesalers I bought these from are long gone, I can not provide a warranty for minor items like surface noise or slight warps.  I will not warranty for surface noise and if you expect LPs to have the same Signal to Noise ratio as a good Compact Disk, please do not buy from me. All LPs have surface noise and this is not something that I can control.  I will be happy to visually inspect any record for defects before I ship it, if you request.  I will only open the shrink wrap of records purchased by you, if you request.

WARPAGE - If your record player can not handle slight warps, the problem is your combination of  tonearm and cartridge.  Ask for my rant on tonearm/cartridge resonance via e-mail.  If you have a B&O turntable with the correct B&O cartridge you can play records that have a drastic amount of warpage since the cartridge is properly matched to the tonearm because they built the tonearm to match the cartridge. If a tonearm truely matches well with a particular cartridge, it should have no significant low frequency resonances in either axis. Again, if you want me to inspect the LP for obvious defects before shipping it to you, I will be happy to do this at no charge. If the LP has a significant problem, I’ll photo the LP, if it is more than your system can handle, we can cancel your bid.

PACKING - I will NOT plop your record in a box I dug out of a dumpster and cram old newspapers around it.  All records will be sandwiched between two new Uline [tm] corrugated pads #S-7909 and put inside a new Uline [tm] Easy-Fold mailer #S-167 made of 200 pound test or their equivalents.  Standard packing charge is $2.00. Weight 10 ounces.

OPTIONAL EXTRA PACKING PADS - Two additional pads S-7909 placed crosshatch (total of four).  Add $0.80 to standard packing charge. Weight, additional 4 ounces.

OPTIONAL REINFORCED CORNERS – The standard 12.5” x 12.5” x variable height box with a 1/20” thick 1” x 1” angle aluminum cut to  ½” or 1 1/8” tall in each corner. Add $2.00 to standard packing. Weight, additional 1/2 ounce.

OPTIONAL EXTRA SAFE PACKING – Double boxing with reinforced corners. The above standard box put inside a 13 x 13 x 2 Uline[tm] S-4410 box with a 1/20” thick 1” x 1” angle aluminum cut to 2” long in each corner. Add $4.00 to standard packing charge. Please note this adds 14 ounces to shipping weight.

NOTHING IS PERFECT - Depending on your location, I hope the packing options listed above satisfy your packing needs. I have tried to come up with inexpensive lightweight packing solutions. Even with reinforced corners or double boxing damage is still possible. See OPTIONAL INSURANCE below. I’ll be happy to double box with larger boxes with more packing, but this will increase the shipping weight/cost a lot.

SHIPPING – I will ship anywhere. Shipping is charged at my cost. To US addresses USPS Media Class is $2.47 for everything under two pounds.  See http://www.usps.com for higher weights and classes. Alternate services like FedEx are available. Use UPS at your own risk. On international orders you must inform me of any documentation requirements of your nationstate and tell me exactly what is needed. I will not falsify valuation declarations or state the product is a gift, so don’t bother asking. No CODs. No packing or shipping charges for local pickup, by appointment only.

OPTIONAL INSURANCE - Optional insurance for USPS Media Rate is $1.65 up to $50, $2.05 for $100, $2.45 for $200. See http://www.usps.com/insurance/ .

I will be happy to combine and hold orders until other auctions have finished to save on packing and shipping charges.

REFUNDS - Only for incorrect description of goods.

SALES TAX - Applies to all shipments inside Missouri or local pickups.

LARGE AMPS & SMALL WOOFERS  - Most US albums have restricted dynamics and frequency range when compared to the imports. This is particularly true of the bass end. With greater energy and lower frequency on the imports it is possible to damage speakers if the amplifier exceeds the speaker's power rating. If you plan to play at very loud levels, I suggest fusing your speakers. I suggest playing imports once at a moderate level.  Perhaps with the grill cloth off. The idea being that you may not hear the bass but you might see it. If a speaker can not audibly output extremely low tones and the power from those tones is still going through the speaker, so you can get an idea of the bass level. This particularly applies to any organ record, any Budgie album, Pilot, any Pink Floyd album, any Genesis album, William Lyall, some of the Ronstadt albums, the 1812 Overture, any Jimi Hendrix album, and other hard rock albums.

If you have any questions what so ever or would like additional pictures (of the back of the album or larger 1400x1400 format), I’ll be happy to e-mail you.  If you request photos, include an e-mail address since E-bay’s email  can not handle attached files.

Please look at my other auctions of other brand new 25+ years ago LPs. I will be happy to hold and combine shipments to save on your shipping and packing fees.

Please note: The titles on the obscure small labels, which I was probably the only importer back then, are records that I personally listened to before I ordered. Like everybody else, they had some winners and some losers, so I only imported the albums that I thought were well done.

OTHER OPTIONAL SERVICES –

SLEEVES - I will be happy to place your jacketed record in an outer poly sleeve.  I think the 1 mil outer sleeves are no bargain since they just do not last long before they tear.  The sleeves that are 2.5 mil in thickness, are an added $0.50 each.  The better sleeves are 5 mil in thickness, are an added $0.85 each.

CLEANING - KMAL Record Cleaning Machine service - $3.00 with new poly lined paper inner sleeve per LP.  All records start life with debris on the record.   If you think that records are 100% clean when new, the collection chamber of my KMAL begs to differ. My KMAL was purchased in the 1970's.  I do use the correct suspension thread. Before every cleaning I clean the Watts style brush, I clean the platter with a microfiber cloth before both side A and side B, and I inspect the suspension thread. . All cleaned records will be placed into a new inner sleeve and the original sleeve will be shipped with the record.  I can use the original KMAL formula to clean your record or any other formula/brush system you wish. I suggest the Disc Doctor http://discdoc.com/ cleaning system using his fluid, pad, and technique. If you request another cleaning fluid, I will have to order it. Cleaners like RRL that requires a double stage cleaning, cleaning charge is $5.00 per LP.  If you request a cleaning fluid like Walker Audio Prelude that requires a four stage cleaning, cleaning charge is $10.00 per LP.
