Phantasm Horror Film Soundtrack LP Vinyl, 1979

BACK COVER – The music for Phantasm is scored for a battery of exotic percussion instruments including bells, chimes, bowed gongs, scraper sticks on cymbals, and virtually the entire percussion section of a symphony orchestra, together with a Yamaha YC30 Synthesizer, Clavinet, Fender Electric Piano 88, Mellotron utilizing voice and flute tracks, and an old upright piano. Stylistically, the music is its own thing, a surreal blend of other-worldly textures, styles, throbbing rhythms, and jolting shifts in mood, appropriately reflecting, underscoring, and leading the bizarre images on-screen.
