There comes a time in every mans life when he must finally shed the weight of vinyl hanging around his neck!. So here goes – all these records were personally bought by me – mostly at the time.

All have been played to confirm the sound quality, none of my records are “MINT” they have all been played. I will document any defects I find as accurately as I can.

I have used the Record Collector grading system throughout for both vinyl and cover/extras with notes where appropriate, so you won’t see comments like “Near Mint” - they are not mint so the best they can be is Excellent.

Nor will I SHOUT at you as to how (allegedly) rare the record is or how a copy sold for 50 trillion pounds only last week.

There will be a whole mix of stuff ranging from the hippy stuff through reggae, punk, hip hop including rarities along side the common stuff. It’s going to take me three years to get through the albums alone so check back and see what comes up. First lot up will cover artistes that came to fame during the sixties and seventies up to the punk revolution.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

This record is another Frank Zappa oddity, it's Permanent Damage by GTO’s (Girls Together Outrageously) released in 1970 on Straight records STS1059. Its an American pressing with the gatefold sleeve and complete with the booklet. The GTO’s were a (in)famous bunch of Groupies that Zappa decided to record.

The cover is in excellent condition with some wear. It still has the Beanos sticker on the back which I haven’t attempted to remove in case it damages the cover, it includes the Straight records inner sleeve. The booklet is in excellent condition, no marks creases or any defects.

The Vinyl is in excellent condition with little surface noise and no major defects. I haven’t played it much as at the time I thought it was pretty poor. Musically its better than I remember – this was recorded during (one of) Frank Zappa’s “lets see what we can release that will seriously p - off the industry” phases. Hmmm that sounds like most of his career! Unlike Wild Man Fischer it does have some decent songs and playing. Outside of the Mothers of Invention it also features Jeff Beck, Nicky Hopkins and Rod Stewart!

Postage –All albums will be sent recorded/signed for and insured, this improves chances of the item getting to you in one piece, and protects both parties should something unfortunate happen in transit. This does however reflect in the postage price. Single albums to UK destinations will typically be £3.50, double albums £4.00, single albums to Europe £8.50, double albums £9.00. If you want to combine purchases then I am comfortable with this as long as I know, and we are clear as to when you pay and I ship.

Packaging - Albums are packaged in a specialist mailer with a card stiffener with the vinyl/inner sleeve outside the cover  – this will protect most albums under most circumstances, however if the postal services are determined to destroy the record there is little that either of us can do to prevent that hence my insistence that the item be mailed with insurance. If it doesn’t arrive or arrives damaged, I will refund subject to proof of damage or the post offices inability to provide proof of delivery and then take up the matter with the post office insurance. If you want to insist that I conform to a list of packaging demands – don’t bid, I will bubble wrap any items that sell for more than £100 but will not for the lower priced items.
