Warringon-Runcorn New Town Development Plan is by now probably one of the flagship hauntological artist projects of the 21st Century. Gordon Chapman-Fox originally conceived it as a sonic protest against anti-human, profiteering development drives in his local Cheshire; it soon evolved into a ghostly discography-scape, covering way more ground than was initially reserved. His second album under the name, People & Industry, came in 2021, and celebrated the sub-theme of local industry, specifically in the Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn area in the late 1970s; Chapman-Fox revisited it five years later, adding five new bonus reworks after digging them out for new tracks to play live, culminating in this new version. The record evokes human-through-machine aims and aspirations, towards something greater, but still humble, expressed in arpeggiating movements and titular signifiers of time and place, from 'Polytechnic' to 'Aerospace' and 'This Is The Age Of The Train'.
