Description
I owned a record store, which specialized in oldies and hard to find records, in 1970s and 1980s. This is part of the inventory which I retained, when I sold the store, in 1987. I don't know why this songstress did not get more attention. She has a great voice, a great delivery, and she was a songwriter. She even co-wrote Etta James' song, "Somethings Got A Hold On Me." The recordings you hear are from this disk loaded from turntable to soundcard. No filters were used so you will hear any clicks in the recording. Both the record is VG++ and the label is NM. There are a few light marks on the record. Watch the counter on the mp3 player. I hear a pop at :03 in the dead wax leading into the music. There are some light ticks at :31, at :35, at 1:23, and at 1:26. None of this detracts from the music, but it is why I only rated it VG++. The volume control, for the mp3 player is just to the right of the time window. The B-side is a wonderful version of the Ray Charles classic, "Lonely Avenue." There are a few light ticks on this side, too. You can judge for yourself by listening real close. The record is wonderful and I have graded it by listening. Usually records are just graded visually.
