Original Apple Records promotional set listed for auction featuring a promotional factory sealed copy of Paul & Linda McCartney’s joint album “Ram”, released by Capitol Records on May 17, 1971. This copy contains a promotional cover with a rubber ink stamp at the top left corner of the back cover reading “FREE Promotional Album Not To Be Sold”. This is a typical Capitol Records rubber stamp which the company used on the radio station releases. This is the first time we’ve ever come across a copy of the “Ram” album with this rubber stamp. We aren’t going to speculate and can’t guarantee it at all of course, but there is a probability that this copy is the Monaural pressing with the “MAS-3375” catalog number on the labels. These Monaural copies were sent solely to AM radio stations and were equipped only with the regular Stereo covers with the “SMAS-3375” catalog number at the bottom spine. In any case, even we don’t get into these assumptions, this cover with a promotional stamp is an incredible rarity. Original 1st print gatefold cover with the “Manufactured by APPLE RECORDS, INC 1700 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10019” credits and the “Printed in U.S.A.” text in a circle at the bottom left corner on the back. The second item of this promotional set is an original Apple Records Mono 45 RPM 7” promotional record featuring “Uncle Albert”, “Admiral Halsey” and “Too Many People”. Original “Promotional Record Not For Sale” Apple Records labels with the “PRO-6278/79(1837)” catalog numbers. The Side 1 (Uncle Albert) label contains an original “Promo-Copy Not For Sale” sticker. Both sides of the EP haVE the green apple label. The vinyl was pressed at the Capitol Records, Los Angeles, CA plant as identified by the “✲” (asterisk) symbol in the runout groove on both sides/ The full matrix numbers of this promotional release are as follows: Side 1 - PRO-X47531-Z-2-6278EW/CF ✲ 1; Side 2 - PRO-X47527-Z-2-6279 EW/CF ✲ 1. The third item of this promotional set is an advertisement Billboard Magazine “RAM By Paul & Linda McCartney” promotional poster measuring 14” x 19¾”. This is one of few adverts promoting Paul & Linda’s new album.

The promotional factory sealed album is in marvelous Mint condition. The factory shrink wrap doesn't have any splits, tears or missing pieces containing two original breathe holes, one on each side of the album. The original promotional poster is in great condition and is mounted onto a semi-transparent paper. I grade the vinyl of the promotional 45 RPM 7" record as somewhere between Strong Very Good and Very Good Plus for Side 1 and Very Good Plus for Side 2. It retains its glossy factory lacquer only having some very light non-feelable surface marks and hairlines which don't affect the playback in any way. The labels are very clean and in Near Mint condition. The vinyl plays amazing with soft and warm Mono sound. The picture sleeve is graded as Excellent. It's very clean and doesn't have any splits or tears, just some very light age scuffing on both sides.
