Description

I am grading this record as conservatively as possible.

Let's start with album as a whole:
This is the first Blue Note pressing of "Bass on Top" by Paul Chambers (Quartet) BLP 1569

The cover and record both have the original Blue Note address (47 West 63rd Street)

The "ear" is stamped in the deadwax as well as RVG.
BN-LP-1569-A along with B are also etched in the deadwax

Labels are clean

Overall, the COVER is in decent shape...
the spine is intact, no splits

the bottom and top of the cover have about a two and half inch seem split in the middle....(only in the middle)

the corners are a bit dull but the cover still retains its glossy shine....

the back has a stain you can see on the top right of the picture for this auction

The Record

Visually, it's VG-
There are "feel-able" marks spread out on both sides of the album....The album is still glossy and completely flat
I have a technics 1200 turntable with a shure whlb needle....I played the entire album 2x and did not notice any skips....there is the occasional pop and crackle......there is also surface noise present...most noticeably on the quiet parts...
however the loud parts of the album are enjoyable....
I'm assuming the quality of the actual vinyl and Blue Note's approach to pressing records (deep groove/micro groove) allow for some marks on the surface without fidelity problems (the record is pretty heavy).

if you have any questions do not hesitate to message me.
