Pat Patrick and the Baritone Saxophone Retinue        Sound Advice       stereo    El Saturn 770      Chicago PO 7124  label with 2 page copied typewritten notes by Pat Patrick  VERY RARE

No address on back.    770-A/B in the runouts.

REPUTED TO BE ONE OF THE RAREST EL SATURNS

El Saturn was not a label known for high quality pressing or vinyl.  Almost all records on the label play with some surface noise even when new and frequently do not play up to visual grade.  I have pointed out any that were particularly poor pressings.  In addition, many records on the label are of sub par recording quality.

The record looks M-. No scuffs and no scratches. Some superficial blemishing discoloration of vinyl that does not affect play. Pressing is better than ES average with light noise and record plays VG++. Plays extremely well for an El Saturn.  Some spindle marks on labels. Grooves do not show wear or damage.

Audio clips are below. One minute of beginning of each side and one minute random selection from each side included below.

Included are two photocopied typewritten pages authored by Pat Patrick that discuss the music, list the tunes, soloists and musicians.  The document is dated 1980.   I do not know if this was included with every copy or that this was a promotional copy.

The cover is VG+ to VG++.

The cover is generic with a "Baritone Retinue" sticker or maybe it's a piece of tape over paper. The front cover has light wear, ring wear  and some denting near the pocket. The back cover has light wear a few small spots of staining at the pocket.  No split seams.  Tiny spots of wear and denting at the bottom corners.  Spine is intact.

Black lines that might be visible at bottom left and top right in pictures are due to photo cropping and not on record.

I WILL NOT END AUCTIONS EARLY.  PLEASE DO NOT ASK.

My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
