One of the latest London MC/producers to follow in the formidable footsteps of The Streets, Jamie T mixes up an earnest slack-rap style with influences that range from reggae-inspired post punk bands like The Clash to drum & bass, electronica, hip hop and even a splash of Tom Waits-roguery. Off-kilter concoctions like "Dry Off Your Cheeks" counter-balance the almost-pop of "Salvador" and the jaunty "So Lonely Was The Ballad". Though decidedly rambling, the project displays Jamie's impressive ability to pull off some pretty wild sound experiments, and confirms the incisive nature of his "urban" lyricism.
