The Paisleys "Cosmic Mind At Play" Minneapolis Psychedelic 70's band very scarce First Pressing Peace Records (catalog # 944 S-2809). Warren Kendrick for Audio City/Peace Records Minneaplois, Minnesota. Only 2,000 copies of this pressing were ever made.

A beautiful copy of a very rare record. VG++ this is a conservative rating only becasue of the sight defects on the album cover. The record itself is Near Mint. I bought it from a record dealer in 2008 and never played it.

Cardboard cover seams are tight with no splits. Bottom right corner has a 1 inch dent that is visible on the front and back (see picture #2 with catalog number and picture # 3 with a front view) and that is the only clear flaw. Picture # 4 is the top left front that has a very minor dent.

The album was reissued in the 1980's on the Sundazed label and is also very rare.

Formed in 1968, the Paisleys were a garage-psychedelic band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Original members included Rick Youngberg (guitar, vocals), Rick "The Wizard" Timm (bass, vocals), Bill Smith (piano, vocals) and Greg Payton (drums, vocals).

In late 1968, relocated to Canada where they camped around and performed mostly in the Vancouver area. Due to fear of being deported back to the U.S. and into the Vietnam draft, Youngerberg left the group. Payton had a nervous breakdown and was replaced by Bob Belknap (drums, vocals).

In 1969, Smith, Timm and Payton moved back to the U.S. and held auditions for a new lead guitarist, choosing Brad Stodden. They started recording their sole LP, "Cosmic Minds At Play". Halfway through recording the album, Belknap was replaced by Mike Cornelius (drums, vocals). Only 2,000 copies of the record were pressed and when it didn't sell well, the band soon split. The album was reissued in the 1980's on the Sundazed label and is also very rare. A CD version was later released with additional songs.
