DIFFERENT CLASS

ILPS 8041

Original Island Label

1995 Edition

Cover. Very Good Plus. All edges still sharp with no wear, a little corner creasing but corners are still well quite well defined.  The front and back panel retains its original glossy appearance with no blemishes.

The spine is intact and the title text present and readable.

There are no stickers or sticker residue.

Inner Sleeve: This is the original inner sleeve in Excellent Condition.

The Vinyl Disc: Very Good Plus

The vinyl surfaces have retained a bright glossy sheen on both sides. The surfaces are smooth with no groove wear. There are no feelable marks or scratches, no dinks in the surfaces and no warps.

The record does show a couple of light scratches on either side but they are not feelable.

The disc lays completely flat on the turntable on both sides, and sits perfectly on the spindle point.

The labels are Excellent, having retained the white background well and no spindle wear but just a few light spindle line traces to be seen.

All label text is clear and readable.

No sticker or sticker residue or writing.

The Audio: Excellent Minus

The record plays with a good clarity and full audio definition throughout.

Track changes and interludes are  smooth and overall a thoroughly playable and still a respectable example. There is a quick jump on Sorted For E's & Wizz but nothing on the surface that can been seen and could probably be cleaned. Nothing major such as pops, skipping or sticks, and otherwise plays smoothly everywhere else throughout.

The robust nineties vinyl presses usually ensures that the audio quality tends to be better than the appearance of a played surface may suggest, and this is no exception.

There are no major detractions and an acceptable amount of lessening from the original audio quality.

This LP was issued during 1995 shortly after the limited edition of Aperature sleeves were phased out, but the vinly has the same catalogue and matrix numbers.
