Description

I cannot stress how hard this LP is to find. Recorded for the very independent Airship Records this Limited Edition pressing of 250 copies was only sold to local friends of the Band. The production is luscious; a really great sound.
Very favourable reviews can be found on progarchives.com.

PROTOS was formed in 1977 by Rory Duff (keyboards, and one of my students at Chichester College in 1982) and Steve Anscombe (guitars), who experimented with the art of creating music while studying. After creating a couple of demo tapes they decided that they wanted top make a full fledged album as well and with the addition of Neil Goldsmith (drums) recordings commenced. In 1982 One Day a New Horizon was issued as a limited edition vinyl LP. A real band was set up following this, and throughout 1982 and 1983 Protos played a number of live shows. No record contracts were forthcoming though, and other real life issues started to appear as well. And after a final gig in 1984 Protos disbanded.

This album is VG+ - I've only played it once or twice! There are a couple of visual, but not audible, scuffs to the playing surface. The cover has imprints of the disc on both sides - see photos 1 and 2.

Also included with the album is a very rare badge/button (see 6th photo), produced as a promotional item for the release of the LP.
