with the Gold Embossed Promo Stamp on the back cover and has
its original awesome gatefold cover that folds out showing MJ from

and inside are the full lyrics & credits for this incredible
Quincy Jones produced classic r&b album

~ important ~

this lp is included in many all-time best lists including
being # 68 in the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time
list which makes it a very important album worthy of any lp
collection for its musical and historical contributions

~ note about promo copies ~

promotional copies of vinyl record releases are almost often
true first pressings and were also often the highest quality pressing
made as they were held to higher standards because they were sent out
to reviewers as well as disc jockeys and television stations and the
record label would want to make a good impression so promo copies
were often made directly from new clean master disks

~ songs ~

Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Rock with You
Working Day and Night
Get on the Floor
Off the Wall
Girlfriend
She's Out of My Life
I Can't Help I
It's the Falling in Love
Burn This Disco Out

~ condition ~

the record is in very good + condition and has been
fully play tested and it sounds great with just mellow occasional
crackle & plays with no skips, repeats or bad noise and
the vinyl is shiny and clean with just light wear and
the labels are bright, clean & mostly wear-free

the cover is very good shape and has bold bright printing
and has no seam splits, writing or markings but does have light
edge & corner wear and a few small light creases

displays & plays nicely

~ matrix #'s ~

side one : PAL 35745-2AK
side two : PBL 35745-2BB

the above is 'scrawled' into the dead wax

~ review ~

Michael Jackson had recorded solo prior to the release of
Off the Wall in 1979 but this was his breakthrough - the album that
established him as an artist of astonishing talent and a bright star in his
own right. This was a visionary album - a record that found a way to break
disco wide open into a new world where the beat was undeniable, but not the
primary focus — it was part of a colorful tapestry of lush ballads & strings
smooth soul & pop, soft rock & alluring funk. Its roots hearken back to
the Jacksons' huge mid-'70s hit "Dancing Machine" but this is an enormously
fresh record, one that remains vibrant & giddily exciting years after its release
certainly due to Jackson's emergence as a blindingly gifted vocalist, equally
skilled with overwrought ballads as "She's Out of My Life" as driving dancefloor
shakers as "Working Day and Night" and "Get on the Floor" where his asides are
as gripping as his delivery on the verses. It's also due to the brilliant songwriting
an intoxicating blend of strong melodies, rhythmic hooks & indelible construction
but ost of all, its success is due to the sound constructed by Jackson & producer
Quincy Jones  — a dazzling array of disco beats, funk guitars, clean mainstream
pop and unashamed (and therefore affecting) schmaltz that is utterly thrilling
in its utter joy. This is highly professional, highly crafted music & its details are
evident but the overall effect is nothing but pure pleasure. Jackson & Jones
expanded this approach on the blockbuster Thriller often with
equally stunning results but they never bettered it
