Description
Professor Johnson's Astounding Sound Show. Reference Recordings RR-7 - 45RPM
Under normal lighting (bright light or sun streaming through a window) record appears to be in excellent condition; no imperfections on side A, and some barely distinguishable scratches on the lead-out for side B. Using a 300 watt incandescent spot light located a few feet away, I can see a few very fine surface scratches on side A (see photo), side B is still in excellent condition. Playback is perfectly quiet: no pops, clicks, or surface noise (using SME IV, Shure M97xE, and solid base turntable).
Jacket is in excellent condition(see photos). note the tiny (~4mm square) damage on bottom left corner of front cover and the ~ 10mm square spot on the left edge of back cover (left of "wanted!). Liner notes are on a separate page and both sides are in superb condition.
Exposure (on picture of disc) is purposely off in order to emphasize the scratches. Sadly, out of 3 very fine surface marks, only one is visible on picture (directly to the left of the center hole and at roughly 60 degrees from horizontal and goes between track1 and 3). Most, if not all, of the other visible marks on record are simply dust particles and finger marks. I would get surface perfectly clean with a VPI record cleaning machine, but in the time it took me to try to get the picture, surface would get covered with dust.
In the 20 to 30 years that I've owned this record, I doubt it has been played more than 30 times.
