'Chameleon Volume 5' pulls from the artist's vast afterlife tracks once scattered across the NPG Music Club and other early web drops, now re-sequenced to form a coherent listen. As with much of his late-period output, boundaries blur: studio sketches, remix extensions and half-finished ideas sit alongside full funk workouts, laced through with Prince's signature rhythmic complexity and snappy, near-thinness of sound. 'Vicki Waiting (Extended Remix)' and 'Sticky Wicked' stretch into groove studies, while pieces like 'Frida Kahlo' drift more abstract, flexing the breadth of his private archive.
