This Perth psych-rock group have been at it since 2008, releasing so many albums that it would probably take a spreadsheet and reasonably strong coffee to list them all. Members like Nick Allbrook and Jay Watson have also clocked significant mileage in the ever-expanding Tame Impala universe. Yet for all that movement, Pohd remain demonstrably committed to their own peculiar patch of of psychedelic rock. This latest turns its attention towards environmental decline and Australian identity, wrapping both inside the band's familiar swirl of synths and crunchy guitar. 'Skyworks' opens proceedings with suitably ominous intent, 'Casuarina' takes a swing at mining interests, then 'The Fatal Shore' arrives powered by a bassline that sounds like incoming trouble.
