Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1974 first pressing in thick gatefold of a killer hardrock album...
Recorded at The Academy of Music in New York City in 1973, this is one of the better live rock albums in existence, next to the WHO's LIVE AT LEEDS, of course. Lou Reed let loose some mightily fine HARD & heavy rockers at this show, and this is more a great guitar LP than perhaps anything else. Lou doesn't even play his own guitar on these cuts, as he didn't need to, he had the powerful double guitar attack of Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner (from Detroit's "FROST") behind him. The album's opening number, "Intro", starts off with some of the best live guitar playing ever to land on any rock album, and once Lou joins in on vocals, as the music moves on to the classic "Sweet Jane", from Lou's Velvet Underground days, it just gets better." Intro/Sweet Jane" is one of those numbers that is rated a ten and should be rated even higher, as the guitars just explode! With that said, you won't be able to forget that the main guitar riff to "Sweet Jane", played here in the same way it was played on the Velvet Underground's studio cut of the song, is really the very same guitar riff first played by Jimmy Page in 1965 on Them's hit single, "Here Comes the Night". For song two, we hear another Velvet Underground tune, the classic, "Heroin". In part thanks to this band, this is another one that sounds better here live than the Velvet's studio version. Many rock fans point to this song as perhaps rock's best written drug song, and on this night Lou once again makes you feel the sting of the lyrics. Another Velvet Underground number that also sounds great here, is the LP's closing tune, "Rock 'n Roll", clocking in at just under ten minutes and like "Heroin", it is full of all kinds of new life played live with this band, more exploding guitars. Then finally there's "White Lighting/White Heat" - the fourth song of the Velvet's found on this LP; it is on par with "Rock 'n Roll" and the others; man, this backing band was just on fire when this concert was recorded!

CONDITION: The cover: The thick gatefold cover is VG++ to "EX" (excellent) hard to see in photo but a basic light bit of shelf wear starting (only) at bottom front & back, otherwise rest of cover (90%) is M- clean ... this cover is usually always found with shelf wear ... it's 42 years old relic and so hard to find even this clean...no split seams, no bends, no writing & no delete marks ....VERY collection worthy rarity ...
The vinyl: all clean and clear M- ...looks fantastic and plays like it looks! both orange RCA labels are perfect ....
