Synopsis

 

Featuring eight songs that had appeared on PJ Harvey’s previous album, Rid Of Me, coupled with six previously unavailable tracks, 4-Track Demos is a collection of home recordings made between 1991 and 1992. Released with the encouragement of Rid Of Me producer Steve Albini, as a side-project, Harvey’s third release for Island Records received a wide amount of praise from the press, with Melody Maker reckoning it was "Viciously aggressive music with no numbing narcotic qualities”, and NME’s review describing it as, “savage and raw”.
