THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR A VERY RARE COPY OF THE FIRST LP BY PINK FLOYD. THE LP IS A FIRST PRESSING FROM 1967 IN THE UK ON COLUMBIA RECORDS IN STEREO CAT NO SCX 6157 WITH THE VERY EARLY MOTHER STAMPERS OF 1A/1M.
THE ORIGINAL E.J.DAY SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THERE IS SOME VERY SLIGHT STORAGE WEAR TO THE CORNERS [SEE PHOTO'S] AND SOME VERY SLIGHT CREASING TO THE LAMINATE. THE SPINE LOOKS GREAT. OVERALL AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE FOR AN LP THAT IS 43 YEARS OLD.
THE VINYL HAS RETAINED AN EXCELLENT SHINE AND LOOKS GREAT. THERE ARE A FEW VERY LIGHT SUPERFICIAL MARKS BUT NO SCRATCHES . OVERALL I WOULD GRADE IT VISUALLY AS NEAR EXCELLENT. THE VINYL HAS THE MATRIX NUMBERS OF YAX 3419-1 AND YAX 3420-1.
I HAVE LISTENED TO THE LP AT GREAT VOLUME . IT SITS NICE AND FLAT ON THE TURNTABLE AND PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS. SIDE 1 HAS SOME LIGHT BACKGROUND NOISE WHICH IS MORE PREVALENT AT THE START OF ASTRONOMY DOMINE .I WOULD GRADE THE AUDIO ON SIDE 1 AS VERY GOOD. SIDE 2 HAS SOME BACKGROUND NOISE BUT IS NOT AS PREVALENT AS SIDE 1 SO I WOULD GRADE THE AUDIO ON THIS SIDE AS EXCELLENT. OVERALL IT WAS A PLEASURE TO LISTEN TO BUT PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT THIS LP IS 43 YEARS OLD.
THE LABELS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. SIDE 2 HAS THE "K T" TAX CODE STAMPED OVER THE SPINDLE HOLE.
THE LP COMES WITH ITS ORIGINAL HARVEST INNER SLEEVE. THE LP WILL BE SENT IN A NEW INNER SLEEVE AND SEPERATED FROM THE SLEEVE.

The Lp will be sent in professional mailers and will be sent in the Uk recorded/special delivery at a cost of £2.50. I will pay the extra. The cost of postage in Europe is £8.00 and will include international signed for as mandatory . Anyone bidding who does not have feedback will have their bid cancelled straight away. I am very sorry about this but this is due to problems experienced in the past. Anyone without feedback and who wants to bid please contact me first.
Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc
