Description

THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR A VERY RARE COPY OF THE FIRST LP BY PINK FLOYD. THE LP IS A FIRST PRESSING IN THE UK ON COLUMBIA RECORDS IN STEREO AND IS IN NEAR EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH GREAT AUDIO THROUGHOUT. QUITE A FEW COPIES TURN UP FOR THIS LP IN MONO BUT NOT TOO MANY IN STEREO.

THE LP HAS THE MATRIX NUMBERS OF YAX 3419-1 AND YAX 3420-1 WITH MOTHER STAMPERS "M" ON SIDE 1 AND "R" ON SIDE 2. AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE PHOTO'S THE VINYL HAS RETAINED A SUPERB SHEEN. THERE ARE A COUPLE [AT MOST] OF LIGHT SURFACE MARKS WHICH ARE MAINLY SUPERFICIAL SCUFFS. THERE ARE NO SCRATCHES. I HAVE LISTENED TO THE WHOLE LP AT GREAT VOLUME AND IT PLAYS REALLY WELL.THE SOUND IS REALLY CLEAR AND VIBRANT AND FOR A 42 YEAR OLD RECORD WAS SUPERB. IT PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS AND WITH ONLY THE SLIGHTEST BACKGROUND NOISE.

OVERALL I WOULD GRADE THE VINYL AS VISUALLY VERY GOOD++ AND THE AUDIO AS EXCELLENT.

THE ORIGINAL E.J.DAY SLEEVE IS IN NEAR EXCELLENT CONDITION. THERE IS SOME VERY SLIGHT STORAGE WEAR TO THE CORNERS WHICH IS SLIGHTLY HEAVEIR ON ONE CORNER [SEE PHOTO'S]. THERE IS SOME VERY SLIGHT CREASING TO THE LAMINATE. THE SPINE LOOKS GREAT.

THE LABELS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. SIDE 2 HAS THE "K T" TAX CODE STAMPED OVER THE SPINDLE HOLE.

A GREAT RECORD IN GREAT CONDITION.

I use the Record Collector guide to grade my records-see below

The Lp will be sent in professional mailers and will be sent special delivery in the Uk at a cost of  £3.50. The cost of postage in Europe is £8 which includes as mandatory insurance and singned for delivery. I am really sorry but i will not ship to Russia due to problems experienced in the past and anyone bidding who does not have feedback will have their bid cancelled straight away. I am very sorry about this but again this is due to problems experienced in the past. Anyone without feedback and who wants to bid please contact me first.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT:
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR:
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR:
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD:
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
