UK SECOND ISSUE VINYL LP IN GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH ORIGINAL ROUNDED CORNER INNERS AND PLASTIC 'THE WALL' STICKER.

All sides of this pressing were pressed at The Mastering Lab, and as such, are identical in sound reproduction to the first pressings that have slightly lower matrix numbers - we have compared this copy with two 'first' pressings and they sound the same - the main goal with 'The Wall' is to find decent, quiet playing Mastering Lab pressings (TML) because many of them are noisy or in poor condition. The TML cuts sound much better than the CD remasters or subsequent vinyl issues. This is one of those albums that sounds better every time you upgrade your hi-fi.

There are some minor sleeve differences between the first and second pressings, which we list below:

There is still no bar code (this appears on third pressings). The cover is still a creamy white with purple/blue brick outlines, consisting of two sheets of cardboard with seams at the top and bottom inside. The cardboard is of medium thickness. Band members are now listed on the inside cover (The 10th brick down has the names: Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Richard Wright). The transparent sticker remains (although it seems was not in all copies, probably the stock ran out - it is in this one we are selling), and the card inners are still the same, with rounded corners and a nine-inch thumb notch. In the lower right corners are the catalog number of the album (SHDW 411), pressing (OC-158 63410), and the record number (SHSP 4111). Picture labels. Text around the top edge of the label starts at 7 o'clock "All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorised public performance, broadcasting and copying of this record prohibited. Made in Great Britain. EMI Records (U.K.)"

MATRIX NUMBERS IN RUN-OFF GROOVES: SIDE A: SHSP 4111 A-4U TML-X / SIDE B: SHSP 4111 B-3U TML-X / SIDE C: SHSP 4111 A-6U TML-S / SIDE D: SHSP 4112 B-9U TML-M

MOTHER No. SIDE A: 3 / SIDE B: 3 / SIDE C: 2 / SIDE D: 1

STAMPER No. SIDE A: ? / SIDE B: ? / SIDE C: ? / SIDE D: I

SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+, JUST LIGHT SHELF AND EDGE WEAR. A VERY NICE SLEEVE. INNERS ARE EXCELLENT MINUS, AS IS STICKER.

DISC: ALL SIDES PLAY EXCELLENT MINUS, THIS ONE OF THE QUIETER PLAYING COPIES THAT WE HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO HAVE LISTENED TO. THERE ARE NO SCRATCHES AND NO NOTICEABLE SPINDLE WEAR, BUT THERE ARE A FEW LIGHT HAIRLINES. SIDE 2 HAS SOME DISCOLOURATION IN THE VINYL ITSELF ON THE SECOND PART OF THE DISC, WHICH WE PLAY-CHECKED ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND IT HAD NO DETRIMENTAL SOUND AT ALL, THIS IS CLEARLY IN THE VINYL ITSELF. CLEAN LABELS ALL SIDES. A SPLENDID PLAYING COPY WITH SUPERB AUDIO. NO SKIPS OR JUMPS, BARELY ANY DETRIMENTAL SURFACE NOISES.
