Probably one of the most sought after Floyd albums of all time especially on this MONO format

Release Information:

First mono issue on a black Columbia label with a blue Columbia trademark logo.

This album was being recorded at Abby Road at the same time The Beatles were recording Sargent Pepper.

Front Cover:

Kaleidoscope picture of the band. The title, "PINK FLOYD" is at bottom centre.

 EMI logo in upper left corner. Laminated flip-back cover.

Back Cover:

 Title, credits, and song listing. Catalog number in upper right corner.

Unlaminated except for flipbacks. On the bottom flipback it says "6709 TPS Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London SX 6157 / SCX 6157.

Inner Sleeve:

 Black and white inner sleeve. On the front is the EMI logo at the top center, with "Add these outstanding LPs to your collection" at the top, 16 LP covers pictured in the middle including Both Sides of Herman's Hermits, and "Remember-the new Emitex cleans and preserves your records," and "Patents applied for" at the bottom. On the back side is the EMI logo at the top centre, with " - the greatest recording organization in the world" at the top, 16 LP covers pictured in the middle including the Beatles-Revolver, and "E.M.I. Records (The Gramophone Company Ltd.) Hayes - Middlesex - England, Made and Printed in Great Britain" at the bottom. Later issues have different LPs pictured, such as the Beach Boys-Pet Sounds, and do not show albums by the Beatles or Herman Hermits.

Label:

 Black Columbia label with silver text, and a blue "Columbia Records Magic Notes Trademark" at the top, and a blue "Columbia" in the center. Underneath the blue "Columbia" it says "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists."
 At the bottom of the label, it says "Made in Gt. Britain."
Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says:

The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorized public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.

Now you know what this copy contains I will talk about the album for sale here.

Firstly this album has everything mentioned above from the original outer sleeve, inner sleeve, and matrix numbers.

This is the very sought after mono issue with the famous

 BLUE COLUMBIA LABEL,

 I think my pictures will show this.

The pictures shown here are of the actual album for sale and not a copy from another sale or as in some cases stock copies.

The Outer cover is the original cover issued with this album with the Kaleidoscope picture of the band.

This cover I grade as very good,  the cover is very clean and damage free apart from one or  two creases to the front laminate. There is no tearing, splitting, staining, ring wear  or unwanted writing.

The inner sleeve is again the original as describes above and again is free from any damage, it dose show a very small amount of aging as this is now over 30 years old.

The vinyl labels on visual inspection show little signs of use and have perhaps just a whispering of spindle ware.

The actual vinyl playing surfaces on visual inspection show nothing more than whispers from removal from the inner sleeve and nothing more, it still retains it’s shine.

On play grading this with a high end sound system the album played without fault, no click , pops , skidding, and no jumping.

There is a slight sound of static on the run on before the album begins but I find this even on brand new vinyl’s.

All in all I will grade this complete package as very good ++.

I do not like to use words like excellent and mint as people have there own interpretation of these description and by grading this albums as Very Good ++ I feel I am well within these borders.
