Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 album that I have aquired over a period of more than 45 years! An awesome original very early  'Pink Floyd' 'The Final Cut' released in 1983 rare to find in this top vry near mint  audio condition. Looks un playedf in my opinion, no spider traces noted!

Purchased from new over 34 years ago. Initially only ever played this to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records!  1st UK pressing veriation, features early -5U and -4U stamped Matrix endings and A-1 B-1 Etched Matrix Endings. 34 Years old like this! Very rare to find early UK pressings in this condition!  Superbe crystal clear and vibrant very near mint audio quality for the most part, very, very hard to find like this. A beautiful sounding copy! (Note isolated static/ticks heard in the odd quiet places only, common on these 80s pressings)  This is complete with the original UK printed  gate fold cover in superb condition also graded at least excellent (light storage wear). Normally this is found in a terrible state and over played. or more to the point the vinyl sometimes look near perfect only to find that the play reveals horrible static ticks, clicks and crackle throughout which is so common on this album haveing so many slow and quiet places! This vinyl has barely ever been played at all in my opinion and visually looks totally unplayed in my opinion, look, no spider traces.

What is truly exceptional is the awesome audio quality seperation, rare like this!

The Final Cut is the twelfth studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released on 21 March 1983 by Harvest Records in the United Kingdom and on 2 April by Columbia Records in the United States.

It was Pink Floyd's last studio album to include founding member, bass guitarist and songwriter Roger Waters, and their only album on which he alone is credited for writing and composition.

It was also the only Pink Floyd album that does not feature keyboardist Richard Wright. Waters originally planned The Final Cut as a soundtrack album for the 1982 film Pink Floyd – The Wall.

With the onset of the Falklands War, he rewrote it as a concept album, exploring what he considered the betrayal of his father, who died serving in the Second World War.

Waters sings most of the lyrics; lead guitarist David Gilmour provides lead vocals on only one track. The packaging, also designed by Waters, reflects the album's war theme.

Recorded in eight British studios from July to December 1982, with an accompanying short film released in the same year, production of The Final Cut was dominated by interpersonal conflict.

Although it reached the top of the UK Albums Chart, the album received mixed reviews. Waters left the band in 1985, and The Final Cut thus remains the last Pink Floyd studio album he worked on.

The Final Cut was originally planned as a soundtrack album for the 1982 film Pink Floyd – The Wall.

Under its working title Spare Bricks, it would have featured new music or songs re-recorded for the film, such as "When the Tigers Broke Free" and "Bring the Boys Back Home", respectively. Bass guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter Roger Waters also planned to record a small amount of new material for the album, further expanding The Wall's narrative.

As a result of the Falklands War, Waters changed direction and wrote new material. He saw British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's response to Argentina's invasion of the islands as jingoistic and unnecessary, and dedicated the new album—provisionally titled Requiem for a Post-War Dream—to his father, Eric Fletcher Waters.

A second lieutenant of the 8th Royal Fusiliers, Eric Waters died during the Second World War at Aprilia in Italy, on 18 February 1944.

Gilmour was unimpressed by Waters' apparent politicising and the new creative direction prompted arguments between the two. Several pieces of music considered for but not used on The Wall, including "Your Possible Pasts", "One of the Few", "The Final Cut" and "The Hero's Return", had initially been set aside for Spare Bricks, and although Pink Floyd had often re-used older material in their work, Gilmour felt the songs were not good enough for a new album. He wanted to write new material, but Waters remained doubtful as Gilmour had lately contributed little to the band's repertoire.

The Final Cut is an anti-war concept album, whose lyrics explore what Waters regards as the betrayal of fallen British servicemen—such as his father—who during the Second World War sacrificed their lives in the spirit of a post-war dream. This post-war dream was that their victory would usher in a more peaceful world, whose leaders would no longer be so eager to resolve disputes by resorting to war. The album's lyrics are critical of Thatcher, whose policies and decisions Waters regarded as an example of this betrayal. She is referred to as "Maggie" throughout the album.

The vinyl

On initial inspection it is hard to see a blemish at all,  this looks as new in my opinion and gleems still retaining its sheen from new, This has only ever been played barely a few times only in my opinion. The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free from any warping.

Even in strong light this looks awesome, Please note most of the vinyls storage life it has been in a seperate poly sleeve to minimise any sleeve removal marks\scuffs. Any marks that could possibly ever be seen under a strong light would only be sleeve removal. I must emphisise that I find it hard to see any at all!

The Audio Quality

Any who know this album would appreciate that there are many quiet slow parts and this audio is absolutely exceptional cristal clear and vibrant through out with (no) loud constant clicks or pops and certainly no skips or jumps! More importantly (no) distortion or any signs that this has been overplayed ,infact this has barely been played at all! (Note: Please allow for isolated static type tick, ticks heard during some intros and in quieter places worth to mention, common on these 80s pressings due to slight pressing imperfections noted.) Points to note: I can not see any scratches on the vinyl. Cristal clear and very vibrant audio 1st UK press!

Very Nice playable and enjoyable copy! Graded at least Excellent plus to Very Near mint for the most part in my opinion. (Note Light isolated static type tick, ticks noted in quieter places or intros etc)

Please note! This vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for many years, A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks!,,A constant clean before each play is recomended! This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality!

The labels

These are the original custom picture EMI labels.

Amazingly I can not see any spider traces even when looked at an angle in strong light! Little if no spindle wear the spindle hole is perfectly round with absolutely no ware at all! All indications are that this has just had very, very minimal play, barely a handful of plays by me only.

The record sleeve

This is a plain black, wax lined paper sleeve. light creasing and beginning to become frail at the bottom edge worth to mention.
Note: the record is now always stored seperately from the sleeve and cover. This is how I have always stored my records.

The cover

This is the original 1st issue, 1st UK Press unlaminated gatefold cover in exceptional condition throughout. Being primarily black in color , these are almost impossible to keep in perfect condition. Any storage wear noticed only if looked for only in my opinion. Amazingly no real nasty creases to mention. Any creases worth to mention are very light indeed near the spine to mention front and rear. The spine is square and all writing is readable. light edge rubbing only. slight vinyl impression at the top front only. Any other marks/indents, again only noticed if looked for in my opinion. Graded at least better than excellent to excellent plus in my opinion!
