CONDITION OF VINYL (visual grading):

SIDE ONE: EXCELLENT(-)

SIDE TWO: EXCELLENT(-)

This rare classic is in fantastic condition.  Very few copies with the rare solid triangle are found in such great visual condition.  The vinyl is glossy and appears virtually unmarked and unworn.  When held to the light only a few hairline marks can be seen and are barely noticeable.  The labels are in great shape (see pictures) and show only a few light spindle marks near the centre hole.

CONDITION OF VINYL (play-grading):

SIDE ONE: EXCELLENT(-)/VERY GOOD+

SIDE TWO: EXCELLENT(-)/ VERY GOOD+

I have played this copy throughout very carefully and have decided that the grading for both sides is between very good+ and excellent-.  The sound quality is incredible and is definitely superior to later pressings.  The play-grading falls short of receiving a full excellent- or even excellent grade due to some light crackle which can be heard in the run-in grooves and occasionally in the background during quieter passages.  There is nothing to spoil the listening experience and it would be quite hard to find a better copy.

CONDITION OF SLEEVE: EXCELLENT(-)/VERY GOOD+

The early dark blue sleeve is in excellent condition and shows minimal wear (see pictures).  There is some light scuffing to the spine in areas although the spine is still intact. 

The original black inner is present and is in very good condition.

INSERTS:

When I obtained this copy only the original record, original inner sleeve and original outer sleeve were present.  Therefore I have decided to include the two DSOTM posters with this copy which are from a slightly later issue which are in very good condition.  Unfortunately I do not have any DSOTM stickers to include.

COMMENTS:

This highly sought after pressing of DSOTM should appeal to any Pink Floyd fan or collector.  It would be difficult to find a better original solid blue triangle pressing as this is a great example.  The sound quality is truly remarkable compared to later issues and should please most audiophiles.  The early outline label with "Gramophone Co" labels comes close in terms of sound quality but is still beaten by the earlier solid triangle label pressing.  Good luck bidding - it is likely that it will be a long time until I find another to offer, especially in this condition.

PACKAGING INFORMATION:

This record will be sent to you in a high quality cardboard record mailing envelope and it will be protected by two strong cardboard stiffeners in order to prevent unwanted bending during transportation. The record will be placed in a PVC outer sleeve and “sandwiched” between the cardboard stiffeners. The envelope will be sealed with strong brown tape.
