COMMENTS: Gatefold sleeve. Fantaisie originally composed in 1967 in The Metropolitan Cathedral of Chirst Roi of Liverpool. The french composer Pierre Henry was one of the pioneers of the music concrete movement. This lp (never issued in the US) with an amazing electronic work featuring tape-manipulated instrument sounds (mostly strings and guitars) and wild experimental vocal utterances. This musique concrete piece was influenced by Buddhist chants but structured as a Catholic Mass; it was commissioned for the opening of the Cathedrale Metropolitaine du Christ-Roi de Liverpool, which, coincidentally, is literally made out of concrete. Henry collaborated with Jacques Spacagna to obtain some of the vocal effects.
